@sim I'm really a noob when it comes to this stuff, so I don't know. I like to think I would have been an architect in a different age but I don't have any of the skills. I think its a lost art. I would just find out whoever built the coolest buildings and then check to see if they have a bibliography or published works. there are some GOAT Victorian architects
@genmaicha No I haven't seen any hollywood stuff in forever. I was interested in the Dune remake because I liked Villeneuve's Prisoners and loved Lynch's Dune, but when the trailer for the first film came out it killed all hope I had based on how shitty and ugly and sparse and soulless and empty the film looked. I wanted giant sweeping golden sand dunes blazing under oppressive azure skies and it ended up looking like ass. your comments on the lack of authenticity when it comes to these hierarchical royal structures also speaks to this. I didn't watch any of them. I don't think these studios are capable of reproducing the work, they don't understand it, there is a spiritual disconnect
@sim@Ricotta my namesake Augustus Pugin wrote one of his more famous works Contrasts defending Gothic architecture against the insipid utilitarianism of Victorian libtard architecture, so I have to back him up
@deadheat the guy who first started it is buried inside it in the crypt (commies ransacked his tomb during the Spanish civil war and destroyed his architectural plans)
@Terry Patrick Lancaster claimed in one of his videos that he saw soldiers who believed that the Ukies at Marinka were under the influence of some chemicals and that they were jumping out of their trenches and running into fire with no concern for themselves
@vriska many have speculated in the dirtsheets that augustus' SPC contract might be up at the end of the migration, and that he has received numerous BIG MONEY offers from other competing feds (fediverse nodes) to be pushed as a main eventer, but the Fediverse Observer is reporting that as of now he is going nowhere
