@HauntedOwlbear we use visual timers to help her and today she was just not having it. I watched her eat an orange, one slice, every 5 minutes. She was doing a very good sloth impersonation.
@powersoffour missing social cues and being outright hateful are two very different things and it boggles my mind that we would humor that behavior because they state they have autism. It sucks in any area you are in because it also tries to make the narrative be that people with autism are all racist assholes. It's wild!
@powersoffour this is wild! I've been told this a lot lately and all I can say to them is. "That's good to know, but you might need to see a doctor to get diagnosed with being an asshole, because that's more relevant to the conversation."
1. Portal 2 co-op with my good friend Sakkra 2. King's Quest 3 VGA with a Puppet 3. Seaman on Dreamcast 4. Journey to Heaven, an insane Christian Myst-Like 5. Mario Party CPU vs CPU for my birthday.
I even worked with an agency to get me a job and they were absolutely dumbfounded at how every single opportunity resulted in me being turned down.
When I was applying for a ultrasound tech program, I had met their pre-requisites, scored a 4.0 GPA and during our yearly meetings (did this for 3 years while waitlisted) was told outright that their program has had difficulty with men getting the required experience on the floor and that I was "Very intimidating." A term I've heard for so long.
"Very intimidating" is one of the weirdest assessments of me as a person. I do not hold some air of superiority, or claim that by being a man I must be respected. I have always been a person who is respectful, humble and compassionate. And that title has haunted my brain as a person. I am guessing I just look upset or something when I am focused and engaged.... because I've got nothing.
Okay... I will take a lifetime of trailers going BWAAAAAAAAAH if we can just stop taking old songs and making them slow and creepy/epic. Please... just please stop.
A sports youtube channel, asked what video game system had the best baseball games and both the SNES and Genesis were losing out TO THE NINTENDO 64!!!!!!!
I wrote a comment saying, "All y'all have clearly never played Ken Griffy Jr. Baseball or Super Baseball Simulator 1.000 on the SNES"
I got a reply from someone going, "Or the World Series Baseball games on the genesis and saturn," AND I IMMEDIATELY MADE A FRIEND! World Series 98 on the saturn is the best baseball game EVER!
@powersoffour@MichaelKlamerus I always like to stress that Myst games create a set of rules and play by them thoroughly. There is contextual reasons for almost everything, and how everything works follows the constraints of those rules, but in the end, they create the rules. They are not bound by the rules of the natural world we live in.
So we will have that steam powered tree elevator and we will understand how it works and love it even if it wouldn't work in real life!
@powersoffour@MichaelKlamerus this is, again, me getting crotchety about people's need to scientifically calculate and explain how everything works in Myst games with real-world science.
@MichaelKlamerus get ready to hear me rant about the nature of the star fissure and how it is a narrative device meant to physically represent the emotional rift between a father and son and not some REAL LIFE NATURAL PHENOMENA!
