@powersoffour there was some behind the scenes pictures of some sets and there is one arcade sign for space paranoids with that tagline. It is looking to be super brooding and dark. Disney described the plot as such, "TRON: Ares follows a highly sophisticated Program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings."
Me about to cry because someone DMed me to tell me that they appreciated my stream of Otherland and how they loved how I presented myself on stream. It's so nice to be appreciated for that stuff. You have no idea!
Here are some more screenshots I took of Otherland, the long dead MMORPG recently being worked on that you can explore on a private server (no combat or quests yet sadly). This is of the zone Four Squared. A huge digital chessboard that is ENORMOUS with both white and red pieces waging war. Even the lens flare is being all cyberpunk. #mmorpg#mmo#videogames#Digitalpreservation#retrogaming
@MichaelKlamerus There was a college radio station where my friend lived that had a midnight block dedicated to "nerd music." It had to be weird, obscure, video game or anime music and we would call in every night as regulars. They loved us because we brought the good stuff. I would have loved your set!
"I played a 2 year old game with old hardware and it worked better than a game just released on the same hardware. This makes the new game a bad game!" Weird internet takes.
Me talking to a dad at a school event and they learned I like video games.
Them: "I've been playing the new spider-man game and it's awesome! What have you been playing?"
Me: "Oh I just beat Ravenloft Strahd's Possession, a 1995 SSI RPG set in the D&D world of Ravenloft. Also been really into the 1986 Commodore 64 graphical social MMO Habitat by Lucasarts!"
@powersoffour When I lived in Sandusky, Ohio, the theme park, Cedar Pointe had this amazing arcade and in it had a vr experience for Doom death match that looked a lot like the units for Dactyl Nightmare.
@HauntedOwlbear this is why I stayed away from power wash simulator entirely. I saw that and went "Oh this will turn stressful for me." My hyperfocus brain needs challenge... it needs an obstacle and rote tasks actually cause that compulsive frustration.
I am so sorry you have to go through that and hope you can take a step back and find a better way to decompress. My go to is any pinball game, picross, or heck... even minesweeper.
I can't wait for the day Scooby-Doo and his gang pull the mask of Elon Musk to reveal he's Leon Skum, the owner of the old abandoned themed park who is doing all of this in order to sell his failures. He would've gotten away with it if it wasn't for those meddling kids.
@greg I am so glad I am missing this discourse. When has Nintendo ever been shy to flex their legal muscles? People are odd sometimes. They don't have the legal copyright on the concept of collecting monsters.
Does anyone out there have any experience with development on the Commodore 64? I have the source code to the game Habitat and see if they can make sense of how we could make a tool to view the many objects in the game? #help#commodore64#commodore#gamedev
