The Riven remake came out today and the reviews have been STELLAR! I can not contain my excitement and relief. Can't wait to stream it tomorrow.
Okay... I will take a lifetime of trailers going BWAAAAAAAAAH if we can just stop taking old songs and making them slow and creepy/epic. Please... just please stop.
Can't believe I did it! I beat Crypt of the Necrodancer... man, that game was HARD! Loved it though!
A sports youtube channel, asked what video game system had the best baseball games and both the SNES and Genesis were losing out TO THE NINTENDO 64!!!!!!!
I wrote a comment saying, "All y'all have clearly never played Ken Griffy Jr. Baseball or Super Baseball Simulator 1.000 on the SNES"
I got a reply from someone going, "Or the World Series Baseball games on the genesis and saturn," AND I IMMEDIATELY MADE A FRIEND! World Series 98 on the saturn is the best baseball game EVER!
@mdiskplaylist Right?!?!?! My mind is boggled!
@powersoffour @MichaelKlamerus I always like to stress that Myst games create a set of rules and play by them thoroughly. There is contextual reasons for almost everything, and how everything works follows the constraints of those rules, but in the end, they create the rules. They are not bound by the rules of the natural world we live in.
So we will have that steam powered tree elevator and we will understand how it works and love it even if it wouldn't work in real life!
@powersoffour @MichaelKlamerus oh no, I mean, not an actual natural phenomena that can be explained with real science in the real world.
In the myst universe, sure, it is naturally happening... there are reasons behind it.
@powersoffour @MichaelKlamerus this is, again, me getting crotchety about people's need to scientifically calculate and explain how everything works in Myst games with real-world science.
@MichaelKlamerus get ready to hear me rant about the nature of the star fissure and how it is a narrative device meant to physically represent the emotional rift between a father and son and not some REAL LIFE NATURAL PHENOMENA!
I am frustrated that my brother, the computer engineer and only member of my family that I have won't help me with my computer problems. His help was, "I don't have time. Just call the manufacturer."
Someone did the nicest thing in the world and I can not stress enough how thankful I am to them. I live in a bubble. I have no family support, a single in-person friend and no support network. Having to be a full-time parent to a child who is a victim of trauma has been such a challenge that is compounded by being a single income home. We can't afford much and spend almost all of our money on the essentials and bills. 1/
So when someone decided to go out of their way to help me with something I've wanted for some time, I don't even know how to express it effectively. That doesn't happen to me... period and the fact that it did warms my heart to no end. I don't know what level of thanks I should express, because it just doesn't happen and I've no experience with it.
People-ing is hard when you have no extended family or friends. 2/2
@HauntedOwlbear yes. It has fully releases (on steam at least) just last week and is monumental.
If you ever wanted a first person rpg rich with imagination, striking visuals and a penchant for the surreal, please... please, buy Dread Delusion. It is very good. The combat is fun, all the mechanics feed into each other and the world it has created is astounding.
For anyone who has criticized Bethesda for lacking imagination.... it is time to put your money where your mouth is.
How can you tell when a Kotaku article writer was not alive when Phantasy Star IV came out. https://kotaku.com/gta-6-gtavi-grand-theft-auto-price-70-take-two-ceo-t2-1851489239
Seriously.... why the fuck does my phone not have the ability to play an MP3 that doesn't use a service like Amazon or Spotify (which I will add will NOT play if I attempt to use them)
Hey folks, we are now LIVE with more Dark Sun: Wake of the Ravager! Can we solve the volcano murder mystery? Will we beat the game tonight!? Find out now! https://twitch.tv/bogusmeatfactory
I am listening to someone who has never played a Myst game, complain that Myst Online has a confusing plot. That's like watching Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker after never seeing a single star wars movie. Of course it doesn't make sense!
@powersoffour yeah he is HELMING THE FRANCHISE so of course he put himself as the lead character and of course he is the edgiest and "coolest" character... ugh!!!!
