@ryanhoulihan You aren't being asked to vote for Biden. You're being asked to vote against fascism, and to not discourage others from voting agaisnt fascism. That's all there is left to any of us (I'm Candian and I hold American citizenship as well, I vote in both elections).
@ryanhoulihan "The democrats deserve to be beaten badly" is inherently a statement which supports the Republicans. There's no two ways about it.
Given that the only two futures that can happen are the one where Democrats win and the one where Republicans win, I would think it would be in your own interest to try your damnedest to convince everyone to vote for the party that doesn't want to murder both of us.
@ryanhoulihan To answer your question: The only two options are what they are, and everything you say or do, politically, supports one or the other. It sucks ass, but that's how American politics works, and we can't change that. Do I also want Democrats to grow a spine? Hell yes. Do I wish we had a viable option that would fix things and send Republcians to a gulag in Alaska with no blankets? Also yes. Is that ever going to happen? Sadly no.
@ryanhoulihan No, what I mean is that there are only two possible futures, and in one of them fascists win. That has to have some effect on what the democrats "deserve", doesn't it?
@ryanhoulihan When your choice is a pack of spineless capitalists or a pack of actual murderous fascists, and there is zero possibility of a third option, what am I supposed to do, cheer at the failure of the ones who don't want to murder me?
If the day includes two WME64 orders, it is a good day.
If it happened to also include one or more orders for the RAD expansion unit clones, I would love to sell them quickly, because I have no possible use for more than one of the things.
A radio telescope array is basically a massive swarm of small radio recievers pointed up, right, and a bunch of maths used to take the signals collected and turn it into an image of distant stellar objects, yeah?
So has anyone made a "make your own" kit for doing that, so you could, like, scatter them all over and collect the data yourself?
I'm two years older, and I don't look anywhere near as old as he looks here.
I'm serioulsly beginning to think that my generation is *literally* ageing slower than previous ones, because it's not just me, it's everyone I know who's about my age.
Probably something to do with sunscreen, removing lead from gasoline, and better food, but it's fucking weirding me out.
@vkc@TechConnectify It's so nice not to be the only one who *wants* mods to actively seek out toxic people to expel. That's literally the job. You don't protect a community by waiting for someone to get hurt, you protect it by not letting them get hurt in the first place.
