@pfefferle@mastodon.social Thank you for your ActivityPub plugin which is just awesome.
However, I have a question/issue. Since one of the latest updates the possibility to customize what appears on the Fediverse seems to be gone, and my posts just look weird here. (one was just two pics and only one appeared without a link to the original post, the other one was the full text but every picture was a link to the pic URL on my website and not appearing on my fediverse feed)

Is this a bug? Or is the possibility to format the posts as we wish gone?

Wordpress WTF???

I tried to not follow the drama of the past few months, but the situation is starting to stink pretty badly.

I'm starting to think about whether I should move away from Wordpress? (I wouldn't even know how to migrate my two 15 year old blogs to a new platform. 😭)

@reiver@mastodon.social It should just have a much higher character limit or no limit at all. It's even stranger when the Alt-text character limit of a picture is so much higher than a post's character limit.

I'm hearing that a bunch of new people have arrived on Mastodon and the Fediverse these past few weeks.

Well, hello and welcome. I guess I'll make my own post of advice if anyone cares.

1. First and foremost, complete your profile before anything else.

2. An #introduction post usually helps getting seen during the first few days and sometimes even beyond.

3. Remember, here, you craft your own experience, which means:

4. Follow and unfollow liberally. Nobody cares about your follows/followers ratio here.

5. Follow hashtags, it's a great way to populate your timeline with content you care about. It's one of the best function of a lot of Fediverse platforms, and newcomers don't know this exists.
The corollary is: don't forget to use hashtags.

6. Mute keywords and hashtags that regularly show up in your timeline and that you don't care for. Remember, you're the one crafting your experience.

7. Learn about the #Fediverse, it extends well beyond #Mastodon. I think it's important to understand what this is all about and how this place works. It's very different from all what you've been used to.

8. Ignore, mute or block (depending on the offense) anyone who tells you what you must and must not do here (above are pieces of advice, ignore them if you wish, I wouldn't dare telling you what you should do or not do). There's a pretty nasty Home Owners Association here that gives us a bad name everywhere else. They're just a loud minority, give them the attention they deserve: None.

9. Apart from the people mentioned above, most people are very nice here and passionate about many things.

10. Have fun.

Don't get me wrong, there is a huge problem of gender discrimination in Japan, especially in politics, but the article forgets to mention that Takaichi (as she's mentioned a lot in the article) is kind of a fascist (or not far from one), and despite sucking a lot, the LDP has the common sense of not wanting a fascist leader, regardless of their gender.

Something I find strange is that people who are instantly falling in love with #Bluesky there or people who just have decided to hate Bluesky here or elsewhere have one thing in common: no interest in trying to understand the reality of what Bluesky is. 🤷♂️

This bullshit China has been doing with Fukushima's waters for years now is some serious disinformation aiming at undermining people's trust in Japan.

Even if Fukushima's waters are contaminated (and that's a big if) ocean currents are such that none of it goes anywhere near China.
