   Japan's govt doesn't do itself favours when it runs roughshod over Okinawan sentiment re US bases and repeatedly fails to address local concerns, presumably because it's so far away from Tokyo. Driving Okinawa into China's embrace seems a daft thing to do if the LDP was worried about protecting national interests.
