I have a podcast on self-hosted WP with the Seriously Simple Podcast, and ActivityPub doesn't allow me to control the format of the template using template tags.
It is being overruled by the the SSP integration within the Activitypub plugin. It doesn't even call some filter, so I can intervene. The summary is simply being overruled.
Why? What's the point of depriving us of that control?
I named the blog profile on a site "info" following the email used, but it was a mistake, as it doesn't work well on the fediverse. I should have repeated the domain instead.
Is it safe to change the Profile ID of a blog profile? There is not warning against it on the settings page. Will it lose followers?
Another question: if I use the reply bookmarklet, it seems to want to make a post on the site. Will that post be part of the site feed, like a normal post?
Thanks for ActivityPub for WordPress - you have really built a great thing here.
@aaribaud@starlabssystems I can't come up with anymore, but if you want bootlogs or other information from my tablet, let me know and I'll get it to you.
No issues with WiFi. After each firmware upgrade it boots to the uefi prompt, I have to boot manually, and then reinstall grub, as in install-grub, not update-grub.
@pfefferle Yes. Comment notifications by email is an anti-spam measure, but likes and reposts can't be spam. They just lower the signal to noise ratio for no gain.
Also, I'm being spammed by emails for new followers and likes, and there's nowhere to disable them. Likes and follows are nice, but I don't want that to be my focus for mental health reasons. It stresses me. I want to focus on making interesting content.
An update to the WordPress ActivityPub plugin yesterday has changed the layout of my site without any warning, by adding a block showing likes and follows on all pages and posts.
Such changes should not be automatic and not notified.
I have had to go around and remove that block, which doesn't match the layout of my site. I'll now have to do it on other sites too.
Please don't make automatic changes to visible parts of our sites.
