Before medication I had about one minor accident per year where I bumped something while parking or smaller stuff like speeding because I didn't notice the sign.

That immediately stopped alltogether. For about 5 years now: Zero accidents and no tickets while driving medicated.

One night my son fell out of his bed and hit his chin on something he build from lego, receiving a big laceration. Usually we clamp those ourselves but that one was too big for us, so I put him in my car and drove to the hospital at 3am. Unmedicated. I rushed over at least one red light, probably two. I was the only car out there that night so nothing happened. But I was shocked anyway.

The doctor saw the laceration and said "Well, I would not clamp that one either, this needs stitches for sure!" so we did the right thing. 😅

Next time this happens I'll take one Medikinet for the road...

For about a year now every day after lunch when the second Medikinet dose kicks in, I get so sleepy that I have to sleep for 30min on our couch. Coping is stress and you get so used to it... 😩

It's called a rebound and you will getting used to it. After about a week you won't feel it anymore. But until then tricks like that help you adjusting faster.

Would it make sense to stay in 30mg and just add a second 20mg dosage later, maybe 1h before the first one ends? That depends on how fast your body deconstructs the Lisdexamfetamin to Dexamfetamin. For my son it was about one hour.

I'm on Medikinet, which is based in Methylphenidat. It works good and kicks in very fast after 15-30min but even as a retarded Multi-dosage-pill it only works for 3h. Which means I have to tightly schedule multiple intakes over the day to roughly cover from 8am to 3pm. MPHs half-time in the bloodstream is about 20min, LDX works way longer than that.

When I started with Medikinet (which starts fast but has a half time of 20min), I learned that doing sports when it wears off masks the crash a bit. Experiment a bit with stuff that focusses you, you will surely know something that could work for you.

It was 40 years for me but exactly the same shit.

After that I took my kid to a psychiatrist to get him tested as well and she was like "Your son has a very severe case of ADHD and definately needs medication!" and all I see in him is myself back in the 80s. Exactly myself. I must have been the same "very severe" case. But instead of medication, information and behavioral therapy, all I got was bullshit that started with "You just have to..."

But sure, everyone is "a little bit ADHD" 😩. I wish people knew what saying this does to people like you, me and kids like my son.

Ich komme gerade vom Schülerlotsendienst und les das nochmal aus der Perspektive, die ich da an der Straße erlebe: Ganz viel ICHICHICH, Menschen, die mit ihren Autos blind in Engstellen fahren und sich dann wundern, dass sie an dem LKW nicht mehr vorbeipassen und sie auch nicht rückwärts wieder raus kommen, weil hinter ihnen der nächste ICHICHICH-Mensch nit seinem Auto steht.

Wir dürfen nicht den Verkehr regeln sondern müssten in den Fällen die Polizei rufen, die dann selbst mit dem Auto kommen. Auf dem Dorf ist man dann pragmatisch und geht mit "Verkehrshelfer"-Warnjacke und Kelle in der Hand dann in den Stau und lotst dann nebenher noch Autos...

Und dann les ich wie teuer und unnötig der Mist ist? Danke für den Artikel. Ich leite den mal direkt in die Schülerlotsengruppe weiter.

I have a domain that I bought so that I can use it locally. I use lego (https://github.com/go-acme/lego) together with API keys for my providers DNS API. It uses dns authenticated ACME to get a wildcard certificate for *.my.domain. I have a cronjob that runs lego every 4 days, if the certificate gets renewed, lego triggers a shellscript that copies the renewed certificate together with its private key on my routers, internal servers, etc. With a custom DNS server and a dhcp server I make sure that all my local clients get hostname.my.domain fqdns and bam, every browser simply accepts the routers tls certificate out of the box, because they already know the LetsEncrypt CA.

A bit complicated to set up but dead simple to use.

Also, wenn das, was ich da lese, nicht für ein Verbot reicht, dann braucht es den Verfassungsschutz nicht mehr. Dann können wir die Bundesrepublik eintüten. Und dann frage ich mich, ob das KPD-Verbot noch stand hält.

...I just realize, that you are describing my team manager. Which is the reason why I currently apply for an officially disability grade (Grad der Behinderung). Because it helps the workers council and the companys doctor preventing him getting me fired.

Is this the take now? All my childhood and young adult life I wondered why I'm different and why none of the grownups can tell me how and why I'm different. Until 39yo me discovered that my mom got me diagnosed for ADHD when I was 9 and never told me because "They just want to sedate my boy!"

And now, when one finally understands their neurodiversity, people be like "You made this a big part of your identity!" Srsly??!?
