I was talking about 9/11 with someone i work with and quickly realized that it was simply something they learned about in school rather than actually lived through, and i felt so old at that point. Like, things ive lived through are literally in history books now and the contrast to someone who only knows it through second hand knowledge is stark.

@ocdtrekkie yeah ive been using roku for a few years now and it is still looking the best of the options, but as you said, that's a low bar. Just hopeing there's something else. Kodi was brought up, but i havent been impressed in the past. It solves a lot of issues i have with the commercial options but it comes with a whole set of its own quirks. So idk, i may tinker with kodi again. We'll see.

@ocdtrekkie yeah same. In a way, it seems a silly pursuit to seek privacy and freedom in such a locked down environment but dang it is still want to! Haha. Man, my leg is starting to feel a little peg like... Oh thats a neat hat... ☠️

@evelyn @RL_Dane @lopta We have subsidized health insurance basically. but its no help if you make more than 20000/yr not to mention the insurance costs AND the medical costs just adjusted so they make all the money and it still cost the patients an arm and a leg (sometimes literally.) Basically you tell the govt how much you make and they give you a percentage discount on plans that are $$$+/mo. but insurance that used to cost $150/month now costs $250/mo but the govt pays $100. Its screwed.

Insurance is like: Hey do you want to pay us $10,000 per year on the off chance that something might cost you $5000 one time and we may or may not pay out? you'd be a fool to turn down this deal!
