@nblr@Badscrew it does SIP in addition to H.323 as well. Indeed, ISDN BRI for channel buindling up to 384k and over IP it does 786k. But of course I'm only interested only in the #ISDN side of things. #retronetworking
testing and servicing Telefax machines for #38C3 over the last few days. There will be thermal printer, inkjet printer and laser fax machines connected to @c3isdn. I'll plan bringing eight machines in total. Make sure to bring yours, too (kleinanzeigen.de still lists many given away for free by people all across Germany) #fax#telefax#facsimile@c3isdn@c3fax
@lenaschimmel warten bis Du mal Ausfuhrabmeldungen beim Zoll machine musst. Ich sag nur "zweistufiges Normalverfahren mit Gestellung ausserhalb des Amtsplatzes"
@karotte The USB DFU specification has a clear definition: Download means from USB host into the USB device, and Upload means from the device into the USB host.
@zaphodb@c3isdn you can have voice calls and (possibly) fax from the public network via the +49 40 5730830-xxxx SIP trunk. However, this will not work for native ISDN services, and if at all unreliable for [slow] analog modems. You can telnet/ssh into @c3bbs and gopher to @Tunnelchaos
@namibj@c3isdn but do you want that many phones at your assembly? I don't think I have more than 1 or 2 Up0 line cards. Please keep in mind there may also be higher layer proprietary protocol differences between Siemens and Auerswald. I never investigated interoperability of those intra-PBX phones.
@namibj@c3isdn The retronetworking assembly will have an Auerswald COMmander 2 Basic PBX; I don't remember if that specific unit has Up0 ports [probably not].
@namibj@c3isdn having multiple PBXs with web interface configuration means multiple distributed things need to be confiugred (and yes, you need to configure every port, every number you route, etc.) vs. one EWSD where everything is in one place.
@namibj Because a very small group of people can only take care of configuring so many number of things. For #38C3, @c3isdn have settled on bringing an actual EWSD, and V5 access multiplexers (Siemens Fastlink, Nokia EKSOS). The EWSD is the special thing to have at an event; PBXs have been at Classic Computing 2023, 2024, at VCFB 2022 (or 23?) and other occasions.
@namibj@c3isdn we could possibly consider using them for future events if we prepare for Up0 ports. We might also have a few #retronetworking collectors interested in some of them, but I doubt they'd want to pay much, and not all as one lot :/
