So, I've been on #Bluesky for about 36 hours now, and had another Google+ moment: I suddenly realised, why I prefer #Mastodon to that blue butterfly thing. It's the mass of people talking endlessly about things I don't care at all. It was like this when I moved from the bird site to Google+. I think I talked about this before, but Mastodon feels like a cosy home with like-minded people compared to the noisy, busy streets of mass social media. There, I said it.

Excellent breakdown of the #NYT lawsuit against #OpenAI by @mmasnick here. Basically, it's another attempt of a #copyright cash grab by a big player: The lawsuit relies on a false belief that copyright can limit the right to read and process data.

@dansup I have a question about the pixelfed.social instance: I noticed, that all my photos posted before Dec 3, 2022 do not show up any more. It just shows a “No Preview Available” placeholder. Why is that?
