You follow people based on similar interests and they probably boost people based on those interests and with the hashtags you can find people with your interests pretty easily.

So, I've been on #Bluesky for about 36 hours now, and had another Google+ moment: I suddenly realised, why I prefer #Mastodon to that blue butterfly thing. It's the mass of people talking endlessly about things I don't care at all. It was like this when I moved from the bird site to Google+. I think I talked about this before, but Mastodon feels like a cosy home with like-minded people compared to the noisy, busy streets of mass social media. There, I said it.
