Mainstream corporate #Democrats would rather lose than shave off just the sharpest edges of our current version of #capitalism. Direct government help would be so much better than overly complicated "market solutions" (looking at you #ACA), but as the author writes:

1) Tony Dokoupil revealed his ignorance & bias as soon as he opened his mouth
2) TD packed multiple lies and distortions into his first question (was it really even a q?)

Like you, I am cautiously optimistic. I think it is disingenuous for the US to call this an Israeli proposal and to imply that Hamas is the party that needs to get onboard. But if it gets to a permanent ceasefire and complete withdrawal, then, sure, go ahead and take the win, Joe.

I wish someone would point out how this is any different than the May 6 proposal that #Hamas already agreed to and #Israel rejected (and then intensified its attack on Rafah).

What will Biden do if the #ICJ grants provisional order for Israel to cease all military action? (Which they will if there is any justice in the world.)

The US has done many things to erode its moral standing in the world. But will it defy its obligation as a signatory of the Genocide Convention to "prevent and punish genocide"? Will it cross that sharp line?

I understand that, but as things are now I can choose my browser by other criteria. If Mozilla were to cease to exist tomorrow and took FF down with it, I would be sad and look for a replacement. On Linux Safari isn't a choice anyway. Until then... it's Firefox. Since you have some expertise I was wondering if you had a better choice, one that would work with Linux.
