Learned today that it's actually an important calibration step to point your new studfinder at your companion and say "hehehe, found one", the studfinder does not work correctly without this step. #JustHomeownerThings

all the moong dal from the pantry done up in all the chicken/carrot broth from the freezer, almost (but not quite) the bottom of at least one jar of curry spices, and 1/2 remaining cans of pumpkin. plus a cute little 650g boule of baguette dough (someone (me) made the poolish before they remembered all the baguette gear is already packed)

Idk why to share this except that I know there are lots of flavors of ND on this mast of don, and it might be worth reevaluating habits you wish you could break and cutting yourself a little more slack. do you bite your nails because you're a dirty slob or is it because there's a specific sensory issue associated with them being long? do the accepted solutions fail to work because they have an identifiable problem for you?

when I say overnight I mean literally OVERNIGHT. Up until six months ago I was a constant nail biter, multiple nails per day. i trimmed them all with clippers in anguish and could probably count on one hand the number of times I've bitten my nails since then

turns out the reason I bite my nails is because they're long enough that I can feel them when I close my fist, if I just clip them to be out of my way it's not a problem. turns out the reason nail care tools never stuck for me is that I hate the sensation and smell of nail filing (also it's slow as shit and I'm impatient).

but I was raised to understand that you *must* file your nails to be smooth, just having them neatly trimmed is only half the battle

thinking about how after a lifetime of trying i finally broke a 30+ year nail-biting habit by deciding it's ok if my nails aren't perfectly smooth and therefore I can just use clippers and not touch an emory board

I went to the amusement park with a friend today. Saved $50 by biking there instead of driving, and avoided having to joust with the traffic heading into a country concert next door on my way out. Literally better in every way except that the park didn't offer bike parking so I had to park across the street instead
