One more cute wildflower blooming in the Mayacamas today is the Pine Violet (Viola lobata). There seem to be a lot of them around this year. #BloomScrolling

The compost pile that we built last week is doing great. It’s a combination of shredded vine trimmings, grape must, and stuff cleaned out of the chicken coop. We will see if it gets hot enough to sterilize all the grape seeds from the must. Otherwise we are always weeding out little grape sprouts from the veggie beds. #gardening

@skinnylatte Interesting. lots of color differences. I notice the blue/purple area under the counter holding the straws the most. The first is really blue while the others trend towards lavender. Which one is truer to the original? The Fuji?

@skinnylatte As a long time occasional visitor to SE Asia it’s always fascinating to hear what it was like growing up there. On a related note, did you know you can tell how old a tree is here if you cut it down (or core it) and count the rings? That’s due to the seasons. You can’t do that in the tropics. #obscurefacts.

@skinnylatte Maybe you knew this already, but there is a motorcycle club (with 22 chapters) that has that name. They ride motorcycles instead of bicycles though.
