Eactly that. People thinking it's open source because it has 'open' in the name, and therefor not realising the billions investments of Microsoft.

Here's some total crap from their own website mentioning them being 'non profit' :

"While our partnership with Microsoft includes a multibillion dollar investment, OpenAI remains an entirely independent company governed by the OpenAI Nonprofit."

@campuscodi Mozilla is connected to just another US corporation, making it no better then apple, google and microsoft. Why the fuzz.

@medina87 @strife @campuscodi @jztusk Safari is Apple and Gnome is full of google stuff. The top menu starts with 'Me and google'.

Not a single european browser, only american ones, there's nothing 'free' in that.

@CppGuy Oh wait, to answer your question, there's a thing called a 'vacuum cleaner', takes a few minutes to get the same result, try it.

Difficult question though: would blocking that user be considered 'interacting' and so would Threads get your data when you block them?

@feditips Hey sorry for the question here but I can'T find an answer, maybe you can help: On my home timeline I'm seeing replies to (other user's) posts I made yesterday and it's cluttering up other people's new posts. I've deactivated 'show replies' in the menu but it doesn't help. Anyway to fix this maybe?

@fediverso @feditips This is what I meant with the idea of adding language codes to names to toot in different languages, without having to open different accounts. :)

@fakeplastictree @feditips Since there are people wanting to post in different languages, how about a system where you ad the language in front of your name tag like for example english @en@stupidjim@instance and spanish @es@stupidjim@instance, so people know which version to follow to receive updates form you in their language. While posting you just select the language and it will add it to the right sub-timeline.

This would -too- make it really easy to filter hashtags by language.
