Today I needed to be able to do git commands from c++ as library calls. I found libgit2 and boy it fits the bills. It was incredibly easy to compile and link to - on windows, in msvc. It was pleasantly surprising! I'm trying to figure out how to do the things I need (like pull aka fetch then merge), but it's a nice library. https://libgit2.org/
There are quite a few undesirable reasons for using linkedin as an actual social media platform, but one that particularly irks me is that while it is a good place to share industry related things (papers, blog posts, techniques etc), there are a lot of people trying to game the system and be perceived as being experts by sharing completely incorrect information confidently. It's gross, and destructive.
@glassbottommeg I've heard that apples in the wild are terrible in texture and flavor both, and that the apples in the stores are supremely bred for their better properties. Like we are eating tea cup poodles, not wolves.
@tedted I've had 2 incidents where I tried to point some of these things out to the authors of glaze. The first time, some cs professor involved started hurling personal insults at me, saw my bio and asked "how did someone like you get a job at nvidia?" and then he blocked me. Second time was not much better. It really would be nice if it could work, but as you point out, unfortunately it cannot!
@BartWronski@aras artists are smarter than we give them credit for. I'm pretty sure incorrect lighting falloff was making up for the renders not being sRGB correct :P
@andrewhelmer47 The explanation is interesting too. paraphrased "the least significant digits are said first, like "one and twenty" instead of "twenty one", so it's like Hammersley, but in base 10."
