@kaia Of course they were, because they were envious of all that what West Germans had. That really was outside of their own possibilities. Especially young Genoss'innen spent a lot of time with TV, dreaming about the western life style.

In Hamburg you should see the Elbphilharmonie, very grazy as a building.

Einmal schickte ich einen von mir geschriebenen Artikel zu einem deutschen Kollegen, den ich ein bisschen kannte.

OK, bald bekam ich auch einen Artikel von ihm. In dem Begleitsbrief schrieb er u.a.:

"Ich freue mich, Ihnen im Gegenzug ebenfalls eine kleine Broschüre zukommen lassen zu können."

Wow, diese Formulierung vergesse ich nie...
