I asked them to reprint the passport they destroyed with the correct gender marker, and they told me to start (and pay for) a new application.
I'm entitled to a free correct passport and they're going to give it to me.

Current status: Emailing the US embassy and stopping just short of calling them bootlickers.
@tychotithonus I see what you did there. 🤓
@SleepyCatten a bit of both is certainly a good nuanced opinion, but the "why" is what I find interesting. If I'm putting myself on the D&D alignment chart in terms of how I conduct myself as a hacker, I'd go with "Neutral Good", leaning a little towards "Chaotic Good".
Hmm. Is the white hat vs black hat spectrum more like good vs evil or law vs chaos?
(not a poll, I want you to do opinions with words at me)
@levitte Ah, fair. :-)
I can function as a mid level, maybe even senior software engineer, and end up writing some of my own tools, but I also very much appreciate when I don't have to. At my day job, I'm more oriented towards prototyping and "architect" level work.
I consider myself purple/white. My integrity is very important to me.
My work is on the surface "blue team" but I frequently run that from a "best defense is good offense" standpoint, and I do a lot of both offense/breaking and defense/fixing on the side.
@DBosiers no explanation ;-)
Being nonbinary and pan probably makes me true neutral, but I still feel trans gay 🤔
@MxVerda Is this the first you've seen of this?
@levitte so former help desk and former sysadmin?
@MxVerda team and hat :-)
@GromBeestje @n0toose It's a perfectly valid email address according to the relevant RFCs, and GitHub itself verified that it works.
Not my fault if it teaches someone an important lesson about input validation. 🤷
On this Friday the 13th, let us not forget the sacred lesson that Salt ‘N Peppa, the grand visionary of DevOps, taught us so many years ago: “push it! Push it real good!“
@GromBeestje @n0toose because several years ago I had a git wrapper that randomized the time zone to absurd thing that git accepts.
@n0toose It should eventually load if you refresh enough, or you can clone it, lol.
This project broke GitHub.
If OpenSSL is Ikea, llhash is Lego. Building blocks to work from, but not a room full of tools and raw material.
A rapid prototyping kit for CTFs.
Unapologetically built using every trick in the book to leverage the compiler as its partner in crime, it is the fastest (on x86_64) open source implementation of most algorithms it supports.
@bruce @lauren It's likely a dangling hostname - it points to AWS, someone managed to get that IP.
@leah @q the formatting screwed it up, it's actually wrapped in backticks and yes it's a working email address.
@thisismissem @samir @q I mean, I already did, so...
