@VirginiaMurr@mastodonmigration Just as a point of clarification, Bluesky users scared Jack off. He deleted his account and does not run the site or even have a presence there. He's off focused on a different tech entirely (nostr) after Bluesky management took things in a different direction than Jack wanted.
Um... just noting, this post has lead to a flood of requests for Bluesky invites (way more than I expected). I just went through a bunch, but also have work to do and travel starting tomorrow, so may be a bit of time until I get to the rest...
I don't post on here much any more, or monitor it much, so probably better to find me on Bluesky if you need me.
De gustibus etc. No platform is perfect. But I feel more comfortable there, and less like I'm likely to get screamed at for using Latin without a CW or something.

@bjfs84 always happy to have new readers. UI similarities to /. stem from us launching 26 years ago on slashcode 0.3 (though we've long since moved away from that).
Meanwhile, you're balancing a variety of interests, including keeping your team morale up, but also dealing with the demands of your boss, the CEO, who has their own incentives and demands. You also have to deal with the media, law enforcement, policymakers, and more.
The game puts you in charge of a trust & safety team at a rapidly scaling social media startup. You have to make a bunch of tough calls on moderation decisions, but also make decisions about policies and resource allocation, all while trying to keep the site from descending into a cesspool.
Good morning folks... today we're launching our new (free, browser-based) game Trust & Safety Tycoon. Please go check it out. Everyone thinks they know how trust & safety should work, but very few have actually done the job. Now's your chance! trustandsafety.fun
Techdirt guy. I once wrote a paper about "Protocols, not Platforms" that seems to be slightly relevant. Also can follow my Bluesky posts at @mmasnick.bsky.social
