Guys like him get rich off the suffering and deaths of countless other people, they know it, and they don't care. Whether or not it's morally justified, and whether or not the majority of us approve or would do such a thing ourselves, it was predictable that sooner or later the torches and pitchforks were going to start coming out.

I used to be staff on a fairly busy MineCraft server. To prevent players from tearing up our main 'world' in the game, we had an attached secondary 'resource world' where they could go to collect the blocks they needed to build and craft things.

It had to be replaced every three months or so because it would be depleted of blocks. When you'd teleport over there, the area around spawn would be this blasted, barren terrain with all the sand, grass, dirt and other common ground blocks stripped right down to bedrock as far as the eye could see.

Very effective demonstration of what unchecked plunder of natural resources can do to a beautiful, pristine area in a very short time.

I have mixed feelings about George W. Bush and his refusal to get involved in this.

Up until Trump came along, he was arguably the least popular President in modern history ('arguably' only because Nixon, if he still counts as 'modern.') Liberals hated him with a passion and many still do, and nowadays he's what MAGAs would call a RINO.

Would his endorsement help Kamala's chances or hurt them? I could make a case either way, but honestly, I don't know. Maybe he doesn't either.

Not giving him any marks for courage, but it's possible his staying out of it might be for the best.

Ticketmaster offers two-factor authentication. Was this enabled when the tickets were stolen?

If so, their 2FA stinks, it isn't doing its job, and they need to implement a more secure method.

If not, everyone who has an account with them should enable it immediately.

That goes for any other important accounts, too. I'm not necessarily on board with the push to eliminate passwords entirely, but by themselves, they are not enough to protect anything of real value.

My answer to that is: You establish that Whatshisname is indeed okay. Reiterate that political violence is not acceptable. Learn what you can about the shooter. Take a short breather.

And then you carry on as before, perhaps with a bit more care about which metaphors you choose to employ, because the facts on the ground have not changed.
