And you are extraordinarily wrong. I understand why you think you're right, but I am telling you from firsthand knowledge that you are not.

@bplein @ygalanter @krans @vincent they're building the protocol. the current implementation is just a reference application. so they're putting in place poison pills through federation that if they get bad, people can leave, but continue to use the AT Protocol without relying on Bluesky the company.

@nightscotsman @vincent @ygalanter @Popehat @mattblaze also, custom feeds are a revelation and really useful. Mastodon was entirely against any kind of algorithms, whereas Bluesky let's anyone create their own and share it with others.

@ygalanter @krans @vincent also, one thing I appreciate about the bsky team is that they are explicit that they view the future company as an adversary and are building with that in mind. That's important. They're not only not controlled by a billionaire, they're building so that they *can't* be controlled by a billionaire.
