    @galena @noyoushutthefuckupdad @coolboymew To be fair, most of this isn't so ridiculous. A lot of technology is not as complex as we like imagine, and even what we'd consider primitive people often had access to lots of surprising raw materials. Primitive tech does not need to compete with modern tech to be useful, it just needs to out perform everything else in it's place.

    The bigger issues are:

    >The timescales involved with making something, without a single mistake in the design.
    >Lack of trained craftsmen/economy of scale. There should be no way that Senku could have made working vacuum tubes, even if he had all of the materials and knowledge needed to do it.
    >There is no way anyone could remember how to do all of that stuff perfectly.

    But the point of a show like Dr. Stone isn't to be realistic. It's about a kid who is an unparalleled genius showing us how technology works at a very basic level.

    @ShotgunShuffle @Sui @kroner Since they are obviously, physically, not the opposite sex, that's not what they go with. Instead they play this card of "male and femaleness are social constructs called gender". They're not "transexual", but "transgender". Gender is something, in their view, like cultural norms. So liking pink makes you a woman.

    What's crazy with this Henry Cavill stuff is that you can see the ideological bias in the media play out.

    "He ignored the women". Probably he ignored the people not familiar with 'The Witcher'.

    "This guy is a gamer, kept trying to undermine the staff and writers." He's a fan of the original story and wanted to maintain the integrity of the original story.

    "There was this other writer that was also a gamer and got fired." They started firing anyone who agreed with him by inventing HR complaints. They did this to isolate him.

    "He was a lazy video game addict who also somehow found the time to totally rewrite entire scenes." This does not compute. One cannot be lazy and yet also do 5 other people's jobs as well as his own.

    "He didn't want to do any romantic scenes." I thought "no means no". Were he a woman, he would be applauded for standing up for women's rights or something, but now he's the bad guy.
