I've been here awhile and was running out of olive leaf, which is an imperative herb to support your immune system. Light knows what kind of germs I'm exposed to in a hotel. Just the elevator buttons are probably crawling with death bugs. Anyway, so Sir found me a little bag in the supplement section of a local market, and ... wow. About 2/3 by weight was sticks and straight up wood chips. I was suddenly transported back to when I bought Mexican brick weed in the 80's. 😖

@RexRedbone I usually buy the whole leaf and grind it myself, and that's what I did here, but whoever packed this stuff was not up to the standards of Starwest Botanicals or Frontier Co-op!

That looks good, though! Why the difference in color of the tea? Just different ratio?

I'm interested in your tea method, though. I usually just toss and wash, but I have a kilo or so of a "wobbly" strain that wants to be extracted. I've had decent results with ethanol, but it's kind of spendy, and maybe not necessary. Do you use any kind of acid to pull the alkaloids?

Yes, of course! One of the alkaloids in Olive leaf is called oleuropein, and it seems to have an effect on pathogenic microbes such that they are rendered inert in your body.

The theory of virology goes like: a virus cannot replicate on its own and must infect a host cell, which it turns into a little replication factory. Theoretically, oleuropein changes the outer protein layer of the virus so that it is unable to penetrate healthy cells in your body. This ...

Any infection will reactivate herpes, as the immune system is now divided between suppressing the herpes and fighting the new infection. Hence the name "cold sore". The miracle here is that someone was paid to do this study.

There are ways to support your immune system so it has a better chance of fighting on multiple fronts, but they won't publish that.

@ThatCrazyDude It's less brainwashing than straight up threat of property seizure at gunpoint, imprisonment, or even death (they didn't buy all those fancy firearms for no reason) for non-compliance. I often wonder what would happen if the entire country at once refused to pay. Would taxation become unenforceable? And how could you evade the withholding being stolen straight out of your check if you are an employee?

I think what you're saying is that the so-called "class wars" would escalate as the wealth gap, and the resulting resentment, increases. I'm not sure how a mass refusal to pay income tax would catalyze such a thing, though. If anything, the business owners and their employees would be on the same side, and the common enemy would be the IRS and government figures who are paid on the taxpayer's dime. Exceptions maybe for business owners/CEOs with government contracts.

Ok, I'll bite...

First, I totally understand why you've taken this position, and I think you, personally, deserve a public apology. But I don't think throwing out the baby with the bath water is the right answer. Here's why: m5m KILLS PEOPLE. They do it on purpose and without remorse. Independent media in general, and podcasting specifically, is the single most progressive movement I've ever seen that took power from the elite and put it in the hands of the people.

AUDIO PRODUCERS please recommend a computer for audio production. I struggled for several days thinking I was too drunk or too out of practice to sing with a beat, but it turns out I just have a shitty sound card. When I bought this computer, all I wanted to do was a no-frills podcast. Now I want frills, but I don't want to overshoot. My needs are:

- Portability. MUST TRAVEL
- Capable of recording my voice over a previously recorded track with ABSOLUTE PRECISION

I'm seeing more and more often the phrases "vagina/vulva owners" or "penis/testicle owners". Even on sites that are purportedly meant convey information rather than ideology. I don't get it. I mean, it's not like we just run down to the local genital dealership, pick out the model we want, pay for it, and become the proud owners of some late model junk. It's dehumanizing. Isn't that what the trans community is always whining about? Feeling dehumanized?
