   I've been here awhile and was running out of olive leaf, which is an imperative herb to support your immune system. Light knows what kind of germs I'm exposed to in a hotel. Just the elevator buttons are probably crawling with death bugs. Anyway, so Sir found me a little bag in the supplement section of a local market, and ... wow. About 2/3 by weight was sticks and straight up wood chips. I was suddenly transported back to when I bought Mexican brick weed in the 80's. 😖

     Yes, of course! One of the alkaloids in Olive leaf is called oleuropein, and it seems to have an effect on pathogenic microbes such that they are rendered inert in your body.

     The theory of virology goes like: a virus cannot replicate on its own and must infect a host cell, which it turns into a little replication factory. Theoretically, oleuropein changes the outer protein layer of the virus so that it is unable to penetrate healthy cells in your body. This ...

     I'm interested in your tea method, though. I usually just toss and wash, but I have a kilo or so of a "wobbly" strain that wants to be extracted. I've had decent results with ethanol, but it's kind of spendy, and maybe not necessary. Do you use any kind of acid to pull the alkaloids?

     @RexRedbone I usually buy the whole leaf and grind it myself, and that's what I did here, but whoever packed this stuff was not up to the standards of Starwest Botanicals or Frontier Co-op!

     That looks good, though! Why the difference in color of the tea? Just different ratio?
