    Along the local irrigation canal, there is an Oracle Oak with acorns I wanted to collect. For some reason, I chose the hottest part of the day to go for a hike along the canal to get the acorns.
    Upon returning home, the thermometer was reading 99.7F

    For the past 4 years, I have been wearing the same pair of glasses as my "get shit done" glasses. For the most part 'get shit done' means doing anything outside my home. Wood working, welding, feeding the chickens, driving to town, visiting a lake, and a variety of other activities all happen with my 'get shit done' specs.

    A month ago, I purchased prescription glasses specifically for working on a computer on a desk. While they are great for seeing the monitor, and keyboard, they are shit for anything else and can't be used to 'get shit done'.

    Now I have a replacement to 'get shit down': prescription safety glasses!

    I consider myself incredibly fortunate to live in a time where prescription eye wear is so readily available, and I am privileged to be able to afford multiple sets of eye wear.

    Hey #askfediverse,
    In dice based games, it is common to abbreviate the number and type of dice that are to be rolled by a player.

    For example:
    2d10 = roll 2 ten sided dice
    3d6 = roll 3 six sided dice
    1d4 = roll 1 four sided die

    my question: how does one abbreviate boolean dice? I have a pressing need.

    Completed Brandubh set. Now I need to finish the instruction sheet with the game rules.

    Graphics for the rules are being created in Inkscape, and I'm stoked to have learned about making clones in Inkscape. :)

    @morph a 'well house' is a shed that covers a water well. The shed contains some plumbing and the electrical lines for the well pump.

    Sometimes they contain venomous vipers. :D

    The berries of local Arctostaphylos are about 1cm across. The 'arctos' in arctostaphylos means 'bear'; and I find that to be poetic. :)

    There is no CTRL-z in wood working :/ This morning I cut too deep when cleaning up a side of the laminated loaf. Now 1 row of squares (or column depending on orientation), is no longer squares.

    On the bright side, it was a very educational mistake, and despite the flaw, I'm going to make 7 of the 7x7 board games. :)
