     @jezra @ghostdancer What do think about an accessible (xmpp/matrix) chatroom for duffers and statusnetz federati? In the past there was the Bugcast IRC channel (which was a meeting point at Friday night) but they're on Telegram now ... much inconvenient.

     @hobbs I'd set up one that's bridged via bifrost. So to join in a usable way with xmpp (native) and also matrix (bridged). Sorry no IRC, I just dont't need it.

     They run a reliable sever. I don't think you need the app for an account. But it's also available on f-droid anyway. There's also a fork (monocles chat) which is very good and also provides an xmpp server. Both are based in EU/Germany. There's still yax.im, too. For desktop nowadays I'd stay with Gajim.

     @morph @jezra @ghostdancer i'd cave on xmpp. matrix has been a horrible experience everytime i ever tried to use it. would need to find a new place to make a new xmpp account, though.

     Although what I probably like most about a forum is conversation threading about a specific topic, that I can read at my own speed.

     @morph Loved that also forums where usually monothematic, you wanted something about a game/software go to the forum, and they were also searchable not like discord. @jezra @hobbs
