    @morph take a small thin wooden plank: maybe 10cm x 50 cm; and get it damp. Then place it on your garden soil. Every morning, check the underside for slugs that need to be eradicated.

    For my birthday, I got a flat tire! The spare is a different size, but it will hopefully get me to the tire shop.

    based on speedometer discrepancies, I think the spare is the stock OEM size despite what the badge in the door jamb states.

    @morph I tried that, but the UI still displayed all of the HTML formatting tools and the text I entered was behaving like the default HTML in thunderbird.

    I did find a solution: hold the "shift" key while click the "new message" button.

    @morph about 10-11 ducklings hatched before the mother left the nest. the duckling in the last egg is almost free. I have been checking on it every hour and whistling some encouragement.

    If it doesn't join the rest of the ducklings in the pond, I will be taking care of it.

    to the County Fair's Bonsai category

    Pacific Poison Oak, a vine when grown in shade, a shrub in full sun, and arguable the most vibrant Fall Coloring of any native plant in my area, and one of the more toxic.

    This specimen was almost sheep food (they love the stuff), but today is a fine day to celebrate beauty where it can be found, and this detested plant is going to enter a plant beauty contest :)

    By its nature, the poison oak should be easily trainable.
