We are excited to launch a new project that will help small and medium-sized fediverse servers and their users have better access to search and discovery through the use of pluggable Fediverse Discovery Providers, supported by a grant from @EC_NGI. See our new dedicated website for details:
We intend to mark this API as stable in our next 4.3 beta release, so if you are a client developer now is the time to have a look at it and tell us what you think!
We are considering dropping support for using Azure Blob as a media storage in Mastodon 4.4, as the official Ruby Azure SDK has been abandoned. If you are currently using this feature, please check this discussion: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/discussions/31617
We are happy to announce the first beta release of Mastodon 4.3 🎉 11 months in the works, it is chock-full of improvements, the most prominent being notification grouping and new filtering capabilities, as well as extensive usability overhauls.
Please note that this is a beta, and the stable release is still to come. If you are upgrading your server to it, read the changelog carefully, and open GitHub issues if you encounter anything unexpected.
@thejoyofnature The feature exists in the backend, but has never been implemented in the frontend. We have been discussing improving the post composer in one of the next versions and add scheduled posts.
@silvia180sx I am not aware of this issue, and can not reproduce. Can you provide more details (when does it crash, on which server does this happen…) or, better, create an issue in our GitHub repository?
We just released Mastodon 4.2.12, fixing a bug introduced in 4.2.11 which caused notifications for mentions from local moderator accounts to be dropped. If you updated to 4.2.11, we strongly recommend you to upgrade to 4.2.12.
@andre_601 That's a good idea, but we have many other things to do. We will be happy to accept an external contribution adding it, if someone wants to have a go at it!
@danyowdee This is a full-time position. The exact details will depend on the country you live in and the preferences of the person, We can right now only have direct employees in some countries, but need to go through a proxy for other countries, or sometimes use contracting. This is discussed in the initial interview.
@CartyBoston Those are more relevant to the backend/web work, and are a specific topic we look for when interviewing people for those positions. They are less relevant for a mobile app, so we did not include those, but are topics that we keep an eye on and discuss during the interviews.
Are you an #iOS Developer who wants to lead our official #Mastodon iOS #App?
This is a remote full-time position and requires an overlap with the CET timezone.
Ideally:
1. You are a senior iOS Developer comfortable with a mature codebase 2. Proficient in #Swift and #Apple Frameworks (UIKit, SwiftUI, Combine) 3. Prior experience with social media networks is a big plus!
