We just released Mastodon 4.3.2, 4.2.14 and 4.1.21.
They contain a few bug fixes, and we recommend every server admin to update.
Release notes and upgrade instructions are available on our GitHub Releases page: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/releases/
@andre_601 Thanks, it should be fixed in a few minutes!
We just posted the latest edition of our Trunk & Tidbits blog series, with our development updates for October. Welcoming a new team member, some small fixes in version 4.3.1, what we are working on next, and more.

We also want to thank Nathan (https://zeitschlag.net/) and Marcus (https://www.bearologics.com/) for taking care of the app in the last 2 years. If you are looking for freelance iOS developers in Germany, we can recommend them!
We’re excited to welcome Shannon (@whattherestimefor) to the Mastodon core team as our full-time iOS developer!
She will be enhancing the official iOS Mastodon app, ensuring it delivers the best possible experience for our users.
We just released Mastodon 4.3.1!
It contains some bug fixes and a few small features, like (optional) grouping of follow notifications and improvements the fediverse:creator setup instructions.
Upgrading requires re-compiling frontend assets (if not using Docker), instructions are in the release notes : https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/releases/tag/v4.3.1
@troy @trinitybat You probably forgot to either run some migration, or restart some Ruby processes after the migrations

@admin There should be only one place to change, in app/validators/status_length_validator.rb
@north This is already the case, or are we missing something?
We just released Mastodon 4.2.13 and 4.1.20. They contain a few bug fixes, a security fix (high severity, only impacting Ruby <= 3.2) and a critical security in a dependency is you use SAML authentication (CVE-2024-45409).
Release notes and upgrade instructions are available on our GitHub Releases page: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/releases/
@kev Yes it is!
@NatalyMillan Do you have a link to the github issue?
The first release candidate of #Mastodon 4.3 is ready! We expect this to very soon become the stable release, but if you encounter anything unexpected, please open a GitHub issue! This is also the last opportunity to submit translations for new and changed strings in CrowdIn.

@danny The release notes have been updated 20 minutes ago with instructions from Beta 1.
If you are encountering an issue, please open a GitHub issue with the details and we will assist.
If you are running nightly releases, we published a container image patching the above security issue with the 4.3.0-nightly.2024-09-18-security tag.
We just released the second beta of Mastodon 4.3.
This version contains a security fix for an issue present in Mastodon 4.3 beta 1, (moderate severity) so we strongly suggest admins running on our beta versions to update as soon as possible.
We expect this to be the final beta, and to release our Release Candidate next week. Please open GitHub issues if you encounter anything unexpected!

@rdela Would you mind opening a GitHub issue with more details, including your account, so we can have a look at it?
We never got reports about this, and this message happens if your IP is rate-limited because your instance gets too many requests from it, which is not expected to happen under normal usage. We did not get any other reports about this, maybe @tapbots can chime in as well?
