I upgraded my #mastodon instance on #Yunohost to 4.3.7 and now none of the images or avatars will load. I am at a loss. I tried to add an image to a post, it just sits there loading. Any clues?

I am so depressed. Our phones have been cut off and we still don’t have the money we need for groceries. I hate asking others for help but I am at the end of my rope. We need $750 at this point. And we need it by Sunday. If you can help, please help us.

@noam @mekkaokereke This peer reviewed article about Eugenics in the United States of Anerica in the 1930’s might be of some interest. It points out that hundreds of thousands of black people weee sterilized as part of “purifying” the human population. Also of note, it was promoted throughout colleges and universities during that time.

I am struggling with this issue. I help out at a #progressive #church with their video tech. My parish also rents space from them. However, one of the pastors close friends and a member of the church is a huge supporter of #Trump. He had bumper stickers on his car that said he voted for Trump the first time and was proudly voting for him again.

Sad part is that 95% of the church is #LGBTQIA. This individual and the pastor is LGBTQIA. The pastor will not address this with him because they are close friends and he doesn’t want to meddle in #politics.

I am LGBTQIA and my daughter is #transgender. We don’t feel comfortable around this individual as we know it is just a matter of time until he does or says something very damaging.

However, we don’t want to leave the church without the video outreach and risk loosing our parish’s meeting spot either. I have had to bite my tongue so many times. Maybe I am just being overly sensitive, but it really concerns me.

Any thoughts?

Thank you to the #GOP. Not only did they ban #tiktok, but #CapCut which I use extensively for video editing has also been banned. Thank you for killing small businesses and churches! We cannot afford the expensive software your corporate masters can. As such, we are now screwed. Thank you so much! I hope you get everything you wanted and deserve.

My #UnitedHealthcare story. I am a longtime #diabetic who had uncontrolled #diabetes at the time. I had been on several #medications with no luck getting my A1C down below 8. My doctor wanted to put me on Januvia before attempting insulin. UHC denied my prior authorization for the med. They said we needed to try different meds first. My doctor sent them the list of meds, dates of use and A1C results. I had taken every single med they suggested. Still denied me. I finally got ahold of someone at #UHC “customer service”. After fight with various “managers” one finally explained…I was denied because my life was worth less than the long term cost of the medication. He explained that as a pastor, which has no real value to society, and my health issues, I might live another 10-15 years. I might be able to bring in $20,000 in profit to them in that time if I was lucky. The med cost over that time was over $30,000. So it was not worth the cost.

Please keep our family in prayer today. It was not bad enough to wake up to the election news this morning, but my dad, siblings, and aunts and uncles came out in full support of Trump. When asked about wanted to end healthcare for transgender individuals like my daughter, they voiced their support for bans on such care and bans on people being allowed to be trans.

It appears as though @yunohost is dead. No updates in weeks. My #pixelfed is broken and no one will answer emails or support tickets. I should have found something better than #yunohost, but I am not sure anything better exists. I really love hosting my own #mastodon instance, but that is about all Yunohost has working correctly at this point.

@BeAware I love the Mastodon platform itself, but I do not like many of the instances. They are poorly run and even worse about moderation.

@BeAware I could not agree more. Something can be done.

@BeAware I agree completely. I review all reports made on our platform. We don't have the number of users mastodon.social has, but they also have more moderators and admins than we do. So they could do a better job, they just choose not to. The number of instances dropping them should be an indication that changes need to be made, but sadly, they will not realize until the whole ship is submerged.

Just a heads up: My instance is about to block mastodon.social. If you are on that instance, we hope you will consider moving to a different instance. The racism, bigotry, abuse, and hatred on mastodon.social is out of control and the admins have no desire to fix it. At this point, we have no choice but to defederate them. #mastodon #fediblock

My wife and daughter were almost run off the road this afternoon by a #trump supporter (evidenced by their large trump sticker) in a white truck in Augusta, GA. He repeatedly tried to run them off the road, got in front of them, and repeatedly break checked them. Why? I guess because of our HRC #equality sticker on the vehicle. Hope the cops get to him first.

It's times like this that I hate #mastodon. Being told that calling for an end to #violence against EVERYONE is proof that I would sell out the #LGBT community and other marginalized people is abhorrent. It will further cause violence against those of us working to end violence against all of us. It is disturbing that our community attacks those of us fighting for our rights. So much for acceptance. #enbybishop
