    @allison @grips oh yeah i've seen that style of shmup before... i don't think i've ever played them apart from maybe like, SNES roms... might be good to branch out lol although the touhou fan community makes piracy so easy

    @allison @grips i'm not really familiar with those, what are cave and qute?

    i thought hsifs had pretty good gameplay, especially on hard mode. i agree about the other two though, with maybe the exception of the final boss for UM.

    @grips @allison i don't really like the gameplay (it's a pofv/podd-duel-mode-a-like) of the latest one but the new characters and story (what i could understand of it trying to struggle through the japanese) were all really good imo.

    but yeah, i stopped keeping track of touhou when the lolk demo came out until this past year just cuz i started playing them again. the newer ones have grown on me

    @nemesis @allison with electronic copies, i feel like if you could toggle them that would be the best case. although honestly, probably the fact that the author themself expects to cite certain works before sitting down to write influences the work already before it's out at all.

    so idk, i wonder if it's even more important that wittgenstein doesn't write with the intention of citing than it is that there aren't citations

    @nemesis @allison on the one hand I think citing is cool because I like how citations send me into the network that constitutes a certain work, but i also gotta acknowledge that it really shifts the whole way i experience a work and if they weren't there i'd probably respond to it more spontaneously
