My wife now mostly leaves this to me, but I still have to stick my hand into a fetid washing up bowl soup to fish out the cutlery that’s lurking in there amongst the sharp knives. That and teabags left in cups by the dishwasher are extremely triggering for my processes.

@TheBreadmonkey I always say to my guys, who often come to me straight from a C25K and struggle to see themselves as runners… you run, therefore you are a runner. Some people will run faster than you, and some will be slower. You’re all runners. If you put the work in, it won’t get easier, but you’ll be going faster. A minute’s running now takes you a bit further than it did last week, last month or last year. It adds up.

It still fries my head that sharks predate trees on this planet.

I’ve put Stonewall rainbow laces on my new trainers. Why? Because it costs me nothing to show I’m an ally. It’s the same reason I show my pronouns here. I’m a middle aged, cisgender, hereterosexual man. It might be obvious to me what my pronouns are, but displaying them shows I’m open to that conversation. It’s such a small thing to do, and I’m very happy to do it.

@queex Mine got thrown out with a scornful note that I seemed to be quite active. This is the "best day" activity that keeps me mobile and is recommended by my neurologist. On my "worst day" (which is what they're supposed to be assessing), I can't get out of bed. It was infuriating and insulting. Maybe I should have appealed.

So, we’re due a new boiler next year, but it feels weird in 2024 to be spending all that money on another gas combi. We live in a Victorian end terrace, is a heat pump a seriously viable option? We’re going to look into it, but any thoughts or experience out there?
