@inthehands My point is that whether something "has really shifted in the last 10-20 years" is debatable. I raised something earlier and people will probably find something earlier still.

The most damning thing is that its obvious that the NYT is institutionally unable to recognize those "failures".

@ryanhoulihan I think that train left the station with the first New Yorker tote bag. If not far earlier.

P.S. As someone who has never been to the US, I first learned of the tote bag as a cultural and class artifact and then the actual magazine.

@mcc If I am understanding your problem, you can still get the Image of the Day logged out/ad free. Plasma can get both the image and the description. I am sure someone has adjusted that for Windows too.
