Everyone feels that the one bug they've run into is the most important thing in the world. And they are completely right.

When Doom 3 shipped twenty years ago, I remember we were all quite proud of the achievement over at id.

There was already a shadow though, we knew HL2 was going to ship a few months later, and it was doing great works of world building and storytelling, something that seemed permanently out of reach for us.

Too much sacrificed to the perfection of technical execution.

PSA - If your Steam Deck or Steam on Linux has started failing to download or launch Proton games, you may have caught a bad config from Valve's servers.

We believe the problem is fixed now, but you need to delete a cache file locally (`~/.steam/steam/userdata/<steamid>/config/compat.vdf` where <steamid> is your id).

@dotstdy @wolfpld I run into a similar problem with gitlab runners. I sort of make it a requirement that I can ssh (or rdp to windows hosts), go to wherever it's building and fiddle with stuff locally until I have something that works.

Looks like plasma 6 landed in Arch default mirrors. There's shrapnel everywhere. SDDM changed it's default to wayland despite DisplayServer=x11 ..
