The local #slop merchants must be getting desperate to sell their stupid #AI courses. Yesterday, one of them cried out to a woman, that managed to extricate herself from their clutches, "If you change your mind, tell me!", as the escapee hurried down the escalator. She was never changing her mind.

Today, they tried their shit on me. Normally, the vendors ignore foreigners. Mainly, because we don't have a $500 skills voucher from the government burning a hole in our back pockets. However, today they were hassling everyone.

Unfortunately for the vendors, I was prepared. Sunglasses on. Headphones blaring. I made it clear I didn't want to be bothered by their shit. That almost didn't stop one of them. I had to force my way past him as he shouted at me.

Let me shop in peace you fuckers!

One of my internal server machines has an uptime of 462 days. Time for a reboot, me thinks.

@kingrat I recently had someone reply to my 13yo Reddit comment. I still get replies to a post that I made here in August, despite an edit telling people the point of the post had ended. My most reposted tweet was an inane remark I made in 2012. It was still being constantly reposted when I left Twitter ten years later.

It happens a lot.

She held out her two fists, fingers down. Braia tapped the left one. Sana unfurled her hand to reveal that it was empty.

“Bad start,” Sana said. “I take wood,” replacing the missing pedaille. Rain hadn’t even seen her take it.

Sana moved the pedaille positioned in front of her Minister piece. Braia responded by moving her pedaille immediately before one of her chevaler. Sana responded by moving her Emperor's footman in line with the Minister’s. Braia brought out her dragon.

“Wyvern,” Sana said.

“We call it The Curtain.”

“We?”

“We used to play in the Dragon Tower.”

“But no longer?”

“I like tactical games, but I prefer them to have an element of luck. No battle has ever been won on tactics alone.”

The word spread. The crowd grew. Sana playing an Armen Knight. The Gods themselves couldn’t have wished for a better match. There were applause, cheers and jeers as the game progressed. Most of the audience favouring the local hero, Sana. Lots of money was wagered.

The game was close. Rain didn’t know who was going to win. He tried to guess the possible moves each of the opponents could take, but found that he was wrong on most occasions. In the end it was a mistake that turned the game.

Braia exposed one of her Barons. Sana took it, realising too late that it was a trap. From then on it was a foregone conclusion.

Sana tipped her Emperor on its side, conceding. The crowd erupted into applause.

I should probably add, that the game, Lekater (or, Fours), is chess-like but it isn't chess. The closest equivalent from our world is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaturanga.
