One thing I will say I've learned from all these little shitty fascist mini coups we've watched, for all manner of "reasons," the past few years is that we're just, not as good at geography, as a species, as we used to be. We don't perceive the vastness of the countryside properly, and we don't estimate just how hard it is to traverse, let alone control, vast swathes of land correctly anymore.

I don't really care that much because mostly this seems to be working against fascists who think they can just storm City Hall and take over everything; but if we're going to do a PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION, as opposed to a fascist coup, some day - we might need some geographers around to tell us our ideas are silly and it's going to take more time to achieve our objectives.

But like, this is why I was shaking my head sadly at you guys because this is absolutely what a world of "kooky rich inventors building fantastic contraptions and pretending to do science around made up words" looks like - self driving cars that mow people down, tin can submarines that kill everyone on board, and gobs and gobs of complicated useless crap you don't need cause you can just manually squeeze the juice out of the bag. They romanticized it because our society pretty much exists to make rich people feel good about themselves while making you feel intimidated enough not to make bread from their boiled bones after you storm the palace granary.

I mean a look is a look, it's just these guys - they're not new, we've been here before right. Mark Twain made a living off of making fun of these people and then got swindled by one and lost everything anyway.

It's not about being on a "specific place in the timeline" because that's not at all how society and the progression of time work. It's about making the same horrifying mistakes, over and over and over again, creating the same conditions that produced calamity, destructions, and suffering the previous times.

We're not reliving the years of 1890 to 1939 in fast forward because time is a "flat circle' - we're reliving it because the inequality, fascist ideology, and general "fuck you, I own it all" ethos of that time period has returned, allowed shit tier people to do the same shit tier things for personal profit that eventually lead to like literally fucking WWII and the age of Atomic Terror.
