It’s for sale to a Administrator with a bigger server. The current VPS is too small & slow causing users to leave. Out of 614 registered users, only 37 are active due to lag. 2792 total posts & 18,555 peers.
For only $470 usd, you receive the domain “Mastodon.tech,” & the VPS server with everything loaded/working.

I see. And that is the mystery. For example in Hopkinton, the Hopkinton Independent and HopNews.com are making enough money to keep going, the Independent having just hired a new reporter Mary Ellen. Yet a bit over 2 years ago Gannett shut down their former weekly in Hopkinton, The Hopkinton Town Crier. If 2 weeklys can survive profitably in Hopkinton, why couldn’t Gannett’s weekly have survived? Is Gannett so bad at running local newspapers?
@dankennedy_nu@dangillmor In the Black Twitter Summit to which I played host in February, I saw that it might be easy for an individual to move but not for a community.
@dankennedy_nu@dangillmor I know that journalists continue to talk to each other there, and to other political communities and sources. It's raised all kinds of questions and recognition for me about where many journalists connect and with whom. (Twitter has never been where local news, for instance, finds much audience - vs. other platforms, especially Facebook and Instagram) But I'm also disappointed by the acceptance of Musk's terms.
We had a year’s experience running Mastodon but saw the writing on the wall about the coming obsolescence of Ruby based Mastodon. #Pleroma/#Soapbox is faster, more resource efficient, & the future of the Fediverse.
Excited to have installed Soapbox (Twitter-like interface) & invite everyone to be beta-testers: https://mastodon.tech/registrationSince 2006, we've run a Technology/hosting/computer forum so Mastodon.tech is a natural extension of our interests:https://hostboards.com/discussion/5854/hostboards-partners-with-mastodon-tech-to-fulfill-your-tech-passion
