I'm not cynical enough to think this is deliberate. But it's amazing how often the NYT publishes something with a terrible both-sidesy headline, gets ripped for it (along with a bunch of angry hate-clicks) and then changes it to something more palatable. (Second item: "What Are We Doing Here?”) #journalism
Just incredible that we're dealing with Comey redux. "He didn't commit a crime, but let me take a moment here to shit all over him and try to destroy his re-election campaign." Prosecutors charge or they don't charge. It was grotesquely unethical for Hur to slime Biden on his way out the door.
@admin But they also eliminated all local news from the weeklies, even from the ones that still have a spectral print presence. They replaced it with regional news from around the chain.
@melaniesill@dangillmor Local news outlets have generally embraced Facebook, only to be screwed over by Zuckerberg’s ever-shifting strategies. But organizations involved in the future of local news remain firmly planted on X/Twitter. Our @whatworks news feed is on Mastodon, but I crosspost to @whatworks_nu@twitter.com. Otherwise, no one would ever see it.
