Hell yeah I shadow banned my boyfriend, he knows too much and loves to embarrass me. He gets along great with my family.

Which is why I added shadow banning and why they are the only shadow banned accounts 😂

I have two big announcements:

1) Pixelfed is no longer pursuing ATProto/BSky support*

2) ActivityPub Starter Kits will be delayed by one more day until I can resolve safety concerns from other fedi developers

I'm not going to risk safety just to ship Starter Kits now, even though it's tempting, I won't put people at risk.

@markhughes This is the most crucial aspect, for a service like this to thrive, it depends on the consensus of the community, and by implementing these safety features, I believe this will be the key to the success of this service.

@davey_cakes Well, we will DM every user that is added and will give them the opportunity to remove themselves from a specific kit, or remove from all kits, and allow them to prevent inclusion in future kits.

I don't think it's worth taking up valuable bio space, and from the devs and community members I've spoken too, they agree that this is a good implementation

@jakob We shipped an update a few days ago for this!

@jan We are not implementing BlueSky, that was just meant to gauge support, and based on feedback, we will not pursue it further.

I'm dedicated to ActivityPub, and have built many apps and services around it.

Don't forget that I'm pushing for multiple initiatives with other AP apps like Spam mitigation, Starter Kits and more.

@jan the subdomain doesn't matter, and doesn't affect how easy it is to use this service!
