I eat food that is made of actual identifiable ingredients. Not a bunch of numbers and lab products, with modified fats.

I realise that 90% of what I eat, I can identify every part of the food. Oats, nuts, chicken, beef, milk, coffee beans, fruits and vegetables.

I almost never buy pasta and gravy sauces, and pre-made sugar drinks.

A bottle or can of sauce is not meant to be half the meal. Real food is not pasta and a slice of carrot floating in sauce.

65 year old normal separate taps still work fine in my house.

My friends have internet controlled lighting in their home. On new years eve, half the people at the party could not work out how to turn the light on in the toilet.

It’s pretty warm, so I wanted to hang and chill outside while my takeaway Japanese food was prepared.

I saw this little guy at the park. I thought he was nocturnal. But he was all like: it's 2023 and I can do what I want.

@philcolbourn Hedgehog, are there no hedgehogs in Australia? They were introduced here. They are a kind of pest species, because they eat the eggs of ground nesting birds.

Rust is a weird one, I can't remember seeing a car with rust for 25 years here. As far as I can see, cars have not been able to rust since the mid 90s. But it is also illegal to put salt on roads here.

If you are going to buy an older car, choose a really common model.

The most popular used car here is Mazda 2 or Demio.

@Sophistifunk I remember being in Melbourne one time, it was 36 degrees at 11 am. At 3pm, I was at k-mart buying a jumper to wear for the rest of the day.

That went from a nice early summer day to hail and thunder in five minutes flat.

Anyone can see there is no design in any modern phone or smart watch.

They are utilitarian rectangles and squares - all phones look about the same.

The iPhone camera has no design, it's just stuff stuck in the corner. It does not even sit flat - it's a wobbly table in a street cafe.

The phone is slippery and falls out of out of your hand if it has no cover.

There is no design. It's just stuff that people made.

Any design is in the phone case or the strap.

@Sophistifunk I have a weird aversion to larger watches, because I cracked a bone in my wrist during a combat fighting training demo, where I was the test victim.

The ultra watch does look cool.

I turned off the always on watch face yesterday, it used quarter of the battery in 14 hours.
