so I found the reason why it was fucking up for me (after 3 days of searching :kanna_suicide:)
Turns out by default realtek isn't supported cause it's kindova shit fucking NIC, but it's whats built in to this mobo so i'm dealing with it.
now. In the threads I perused. to find the solution finally.
98% were people going "omg i can't believe ur using that, if you aren't gonna take this seriously just get a different OS" or something of the nature.
not all of these were in reference to a NIC, some were just peoples general setups.
It was cancer, but I finally found my fix.
you need to enable an extra flag to get it to load realtek drivers.
It's like... in order to use truenas, you're probably semi-autist already, so it's not like they're gatekeeping anything, most just were being dicks for the sake of it.
if someone has (what you'd consider) shit parts you don't gotta be an ass, just tell them the solution, and then give them a suggestion for an upgrade or something :hinata_acid: -

There's a bunch of reasons for this like IoT and smart devices being always on, and the rise of AI/ML in everything. I've personally witness probablistic ML techniques being more energy efficient than algorithmic techniques, but I guess that doesn't scale. In addition the energy cost of training AI is insane. -

I think my problem is I took software development really seriously and got okay at it and now I have contempt for most of the people in the industry because they're fucking clowns who can't program their way out of a paper bag without an active internet connection and stackoverflow holding their dicks for them -

so, the men who are going to play the dancing clown to attract women are the ones who are fine with that reward, because they don't want to keep her around, they just want to fuck her a few times and move on to the next. it's completely predictable with a few moments' thought
the problem at its core *is* a lack of quality women, and individual men have no power at all to change that
and contrary to popular wisdom it was not men who kept women more or less in line historically, but other women. the social structures women built to police themselves were not imposed by men to begin with, and won't be imposed by men again. it's not that men *can't* police women, but that arrangement is an entirely different one -
