the TrueNAS community is more cancerous than linuxfags could ever hope to be.

@Halo @SuperSnekFriend it's funny because Realtek is a very shitty NIC, but it's cheap as fuck so every manufacturer uses it in most of their boards. Heck, I have a premium Asus model here, and it uses a fucking Realtek.
So technically it would make sense for them to support it because it's the card most people have access to, but they don't bother with it because probably in their minds "people who are taking this SERIOUSLY will buy an Intel i219 with TCP offloading and other assorted bullshit", and this kind of mentality seeps into their users.

@SuperSnekFriend
so I found the reason why it was fucking up for me (after 3 days of searching :kanna_suicide:)
Turns out by default realtek isn't supported cause it's kindova shit fucking NIC, but it's whats built in to this mobo so i'm dealing with it.
now. In the threads I perused. to find the solution finally.
98% were people going "omg i can't believe ur using that, if you aren't gonna take this seriously just get a different OS" or something of the nature.
not all of these were in reference to a NIC, some were just peoples general setups.
It was cancer, but I finally found my fix.
you need to enable an extra flag to get it to load realtek drivers.
It's like... in order to use truenas, you're probably semi-autist already, so it's not like they're gatekeeping anything, most just were being dicks for the sake of it.
if someone has (what you'd consider) shit parts you don't gotta be an ass, just tell them the solution, and then give them a suggestion for an upgrade or something :hinata_acid:
