One month ago today I was in a car accident and my life crumbled around me.
There were no injuries and not my fault but led to me being unemployed and facing homelessness.
With the incredible kindness of one person here on Mastodon and a relentless non-stop search for employment I managed to find a job, pay my rent, and get this train back on the tracks.
I am so very thankful for all of you who have given me support in my darkest hour. It really has made a difference.
@gamingonlinux I've had this problem before. It doesn't exist yet. On the page you have to initialize something maybe JavaScript after it's created and then you can send the url. At least that's my two cents there may be newer better ways to do it.
@dalias@Jennifer I had a serious ongoing problem for a while. What I did was pay $70 a month to a local physicians group who provided incredible oversight and care and acted as my advocate in the main medical system. They placed referrals and worked the system for me where I got a surgery for free. I felt like I got my money's worth but when the problem was over I no longer needed them and haven't for quite a few years. I would do the same again though.
@dalias@Jennifer My insurance premium with deductible for a year is more than half of my income. I could be homeless with insurance I guess.. I do see your point and if you have the resources that is definitely the way to go.
@Jennifer Every time I think about health insurance it sends me into a rage fest. While mine was cheaper it also had a $9,000 deductible which made paying them for the privilege to pay for my own healthcare really didn't make sense.
@SuneheraSuria I find it fascinating how large scale structures often look like physiological structures.. this looks like a heart and all of its veins..
As I wake up to the first morning with running #water coming out of my faucets in quite some time... I am mildly amazed at the Herculean effort required to accomplish this feat.
Considering the devastation and the videos of our water system that I've seen I was completely prepared for months.
Standing ovation for all of you water system workers out there waist deep in mud hooking up monster pipes.
