When under the recommendations of the family's favourite book Ada and Zangemann by @kirschner one finds another great book from @OReillyMedia for kids - another one with a bookmark ribbon in it 💜 (spent an entire evening with the child going through various mobile games popular in class and checking them on the webpage listed at the end of the story to find dark patterns used in the apps...)

Back when everyone was impressed about Google's reaction to ChatGPT and taking that as a sign that Google feared a competitor coming up with a better interface to search I kept wondering why nobody saw the much more immediate thread of LLMs used for SEO...

@dalias @gamingonlinux what surprises me though is that this SEO approach wasn't spotted automatically and the effect throttled.

@josh @phpledge @FOSSBackstage there were speakers who were happy to see that as well - not only immunocompromised people but also those with things they wanted to do the week after the conference that were important to them so spending a week or two in sickbay really was no option.

Plus those with children where one family member getting sick typically means additional work for a month or two while the infection makes its way to everyone one after another.

Applies to all respiratory viruses.
