I had to say goodbye to my sweet little kitty Eva last week after 15 years of snuggles and love 😿
She was by my side almost my entire adult life, and I’m really missing her presence already.

@skinnylatte do you know if the whole thing is published anywhere? I’m only seeing 3 chapters available at that link
@skinnylatte this sounds amazing, and I can’t wait to hear more and learn along-side you! I’m curious how you feel your ethical fit model can work with outside funding (your stage 3 for the companies you work with), but I might just be extra cynical about there being any ethical investors out there 😂
@dansup that person’s criticism is going a bit too far imo. The protocol does not require every app to support every kind of content. I do wish there was a different object type used for photo-specific posts with a caption vs notes that happen to have media attachments. That would make it more obvious they are different types of content for all apps trying to display them.

As someone who used to work for GitHub, this makes me unbelievably angry. We refused to build something like Actions for a very long time, despite many requests for it, because of the complexity of the security implications. I knew when it was announced not long after I left that there was NO WAY it could have been built the right way. This is what happens when an engineer-led org is replaced by political hacks cosplaying as engineers- they greenlight insecure shit and shut down legit concerns.
@evan no, my cats aren’t, because it makes my allergies muuuch worse. But my doggo was allowed before she passed; she was small, didn’t shed much, and would stick to the middle or of the foot of the bed rather than trying to sleep on our pillows like that cats 😂
@Mastodon not for US? Foiled by the stupid tariffs yet again 😔
@dansup can’t wait to play with it! My cats are ready for their closeups 😸😸
@dansup oh cool, didn’t realize you had worked on building that already
@dansup you did great for your first time! It takes practice to feel comfortable speaking in front of an audience and engaging in natural-sounding humor 😊
@dansup really looking forward to collaborating on this! Getting such a big project as @PixelFed using context will be even more incentive for more folks to implement it. Together we can all make missing replies a thing of the past 💪🏻
Great to meet irl and chat with you this weekend! And thanks for the shoutout 🫶🏻

What a special 2 days it was at #FediCon. So great to meet everyone in person and have so many wonderful conversations! Thank you for organizing @reiver, great work!!
@johannab ”people not product“ “slow down and be kind” ❤️❤️❤️ #FediCon
@dansup sharing a multilayered approach to distributed community governance at #FediCon
@Gargron the blue is so cute!
Just grabbed my #FediCon ticket! Excited to meet up with all you wonderful folks helping to build this place 🫶🏻😊🥳
🫶🏻 aw thanks @dansup!
I’d love to collaborate on better compatibility with pixelfed! I’m super interested in trying to get stories in frequency like you have in pixelfed someday!
I’m planning to be at FediCon, so I’d love to meet ya and scheme on what kinda cool stuff we can do 😎
Recently, @Camillle and I have been designing ways to bring that dream to life while still keeping the familiar interface for those who can't live without it. We've just released the first version of what we call Zen Mode. Click on the little smiley guy at the top of your timeline to try it out!
Let us know what you think!
@frequency now fully supports FEP-7888 as of yesterday! (It has been generating outbound context since the beginning of the year, but I just finished fetching all remote replies from the context as well.)

I'll hold off on trying to upstream this to Mastodon until after the 4.4.0 release to make sure I'm not conflicting with anything they changed.
Lastly, about cost: we hope to build something that's worth paying for. We don’t track you, collect your data, or run ads, so we rely on a small subscription of a few dollars per month to cover hosting and development. However, we currently offer a free trial, and we hope you’ll try it out and let us know what you think!
