Good grief. "Security has detected content that violates corporate policy."
The content? Searching "terraform pass variables between child modules" on duckduckgo.com.
I just can't even.......

@cstross Yeah, time to start looking at Android options. I may just bite the bullet and look for a phone that just does calls and text/SMS, assuming I can find something to use to hold my music collection to listen to as desired.
@silverwizard When I get weird "I don't understand why this isn't working correctly" I flip the interpreter to bash and retest, and more often then not angrily mutter "I can walk! It's a Christmas Miracle! Thank you officers!"
@tek Harrumph. Harrumph I say!
(Not an issue in Safari, time to dump the glitterstim spices from the cargo holds in Arc.
@tek I'm getting some weird "504" messages when I click on the "All" tab for notifications in the web UI. I've tried quitting and restarting my browser (Arc on OS X), not sure if there's something else going on though?
@tek @2600 Note to self - find my signin info and start pulling this down again.
@tek This year for Halloween I will be going as Frozone from "The Incredibles."
@hacks4pancakes That reminds me I need to reach out to the premier conference for my industry (SuperComputing). Last year they were in GA, this year MO. Need to say as a straight, white, mid-50s man that I'm not looking at attending events (physically or remote) in states that actively support bigotry.
They're not Florida or Texas, but IMO it's more a case of degree than anything.
@silverwizard I started back in 1992 or thereabouts, working for a company that made a Microsoft Office software suite for UNIX (and later Linux) systems, so we had a couple of everything floating around plus a large suite of Sun Microsystems kit for infrastructure. I kept being in places where I did a little of everything until I moved to a global pharma company in 2007, at which point UNIX had been long dead and IT was increasingly specialized and I was servers with occasional storage.
@silverwizard I've lost track of the number of times that I've noted my good fortune for having cut my sysadmin teeth in a time when you did everything -- I've worked places where I ran phone and voicemail, networks, storage, DNS, e-mail, and all the major UNIX servers (HPUX, AIX, SunOS, Solaris, DG-UX, Ultrix, IRIX, and a couple of others in there as well). I'm not an expert in any of this by any means, but I know a little (or more) about a lot of things.
@tek I am ded.
"He steadfastly keeps a list of both friends and enemies. This sound like a teetotaler to you? I don't think so. I think that's St. Nixon staggering down my chimney to raid my liquor cart.”
@aral oh, yeah. Need to stand up GitLab somewhere and move my stuff.
@tek But can you see the fnords?
@tek That ain't no monkey of chaos.....
@tek Any word on if this will also ban space lasers?
@tek Imma just leave this here.

@silverwizard Sorry, not seeing what the problem is with that?
Other than I'm hungry and want onion bhajis now.
@tek The fake press release on The Onion's site was a thing of beauty, and I'm still snickering at it.
@mekkaokereke All I can think of is that quote from the Simpsons -- "We've tried *nothin'* and we're all out of ideas!"
@tek @szakib @alltherum @edd @cylb Nah. legit post. Copy and pasted from someone else.
