@tek There was something magical about IRIX desktops. Probably because in part I was just a user and never had to administer them, but still.

(I also badly miss Ultrix as well)

@aral Yeah, no. Look at how the Usual Suspects lost their mind when we elected a black man as president, it will most definitely not go any better with a black woman.

@silverwizard Reminded of that time when the director of Engineering at a company I worked for had to tell all of Engineering that they were required to check their e-mails twice a day, no exceptions.

@aral And we have Google that seems to own most (if not all) of US school tech stacks.

Chromebooks, Google Classroom.

I’m sure that there won’t be any unpleasant surprises there.

@clacke @woozle @mekkaokereke @aebabis The American Dream and American Exceptionalism are a hell of a drug. If you have to accept that those aren't true, then what does that say about the story you tell about yourself, where you got where you are by grit and hard work and skill and ability....?
