@EdBoatConnoisseur@p@skylar@theorytoe That sounds pretty nice. Caldav is comfy too. Also did you see the recent-ish guadec talk about all the edge cases that happen in developing a calendar. Was pretty funny what with the strange timezones that exist. inb4 gnome..
@EdBoatConnoisseur@p@theorytoe@skylar for a second I thought this was gonna about something more complicated than flat files based off the headline, but you can do a lot with just that too. While reading, a thought occurred to me though.. Depending on your use case, you may want to "transpose" the file so that each line represents a column (sort of like how columnar formats like parquet store data column-wise instead of row-wise) if you have a lot of columns and you dont always need to work with every column. Some of the commands would have to change but I wonder how each approach would scale
@hazlin For the sake of completeness, this is what I meant. Since I don't think your strings need to be dynamically handled, you could do something like this in C. in C++, your mileage may vary, idk what initializers are supported..
Note: out-of-order designated initialization, nested designated initialization, mixing of designated initializers and regular initializers, and designated initialization of arrays are all supported in the C programming language, but are not allowed in C++.
> string tokenization I'm sure you could write a string parsing and tokenizing function but I'm not sure what standard library tools are available in c++ that might make that easier if you dont want to roll your own
@lunarised grating in what way? Every time I hear his solos on the Hand Cannot Erase album I get goosebumps. I think Steven reigns him in just enough to be overly technical while still staying in the prog sphere (I'd post my FLACs rn but they are too big :pensive_cowboy: )
@hazlin idk about c++ but assuming theres enough overlap with c, you could make an enum of possible colors, which acts as index into an array of structs containing your resistor info
There was a young man from Japan Whose limericks never would scan. And when they asked why, He said "I do try! But when I get to the last line I try to fit in as many words as I can."
@lunarised assuming you mean the solo that starts around the 2:50 mark, I honestly didnt notice them on my first listen but after you mentioned it they were more noticeable.
Also I made sure to re-listen on a few different headphones and I stand by thinking the kicks are too loud but also noticed that your closed hihats are a little louder than your open hihats (which might be a function of the song being less busy when the hats are closed more than anything). idk if thats something that should change but it just made me think about how I always assume open hats should be louder, at least in a live setting with acoustic drums. The flipside is that louder open hats might be more distracting though... Not sure where I am going with this tbh
