I think it will depend on who holds out and / or she picks for VP. If the consensus is overwhelming for Harris, most will keep their powder dry.
I could imagine the progressive left raising cain about it but then again, they showed remarkable discipline for Biden.
The key I think is to not let it look like donors or elites are dictating. I actually think the line that this is all driven by elites is potent and frankly, I am not sure how to address it.
Thanks for reading these posts! I took up bookbinding as a hobby to do something with my hands. I've enjoyed sharing my projects here on Mastodon and I've really appreciated all the encouragement!
Here are a few more projects I've completed the past year:
I had this old calendar lying around with vintage travel posters. I love vintage posters and so I've saved all of the small previews from the back of the calendar for future use!
I've been in a rut lately with books so I decided to go back to basics. I'm using the book "Handmade Books at Home" by Chanel Ly (Bitter Melon Bindery) to brush up - not a bad work but I sometimes need to read the instructions multiple times. I made these pamphlet stitch books using her techniques. The big difference is that I cut the pages out and rounded the corners myself.
You might laugh but the idea for this book came to me in a dream. I thought about wanting to make a black notebook with a red spine and white binding with this inside panel. It was from an old calendar. I love making these books but one thing I always find tricky is how much space to give each signature. I wanted eight but had to do six. Still, I love how it turned out.
@madjo@books I may just resort to that. The thing that is bugging me is that I DID IT ONCE and I can't figure out how I did it. It made a nicely formatted quote photo.
I've been reading on my #Android tablet with Moon+ Reader. I wanted to share a quote on Mastodon as an image. I once shared a highlight and exported it into Joplin.
Now I am trying to do it again in a different book and for the life of me, I cannot remember how I did it! I've tried searching and I feel like all the search engines are gaslighting me as if this option never existed. Thanks!
Techies of the Fediverse: Is there any way to create a small-scale search engine that only works with a handful of sites? I have a number of cooking sites I use for recipes and it struck me how cool it would be to be able to create a small search app that searches for recipes but only on those dozen sites. Does this sort of thing exist?
It’s been a newsy week, so this #NewstodonFriday we’re zigging where others zag, and focusing on fascinating stories that didn’t dominate this week’s headlines. We’ve got a mix of thought-provoking, hard-hitting, sad and uplifting articles, but it’s a Biden- and Trump-free zone, folks. This thread is where we highlight the work of newsrooms that are active in the fediverse and ask you to boost the posts you like, follow publications’ profiles and subscribe or otherwise support them. Feel free to comment, discuss and recommend!
@lex I'm sad about this. I am not sure what the reason might be. I think there is a real question of how we take care of things in commons. We have a lot of Little Libraries in my neighborhood that sometimes do food and we've never had a problem. But we also have a lot of people in Chicago who deface public scooters and throw the bike share bikes into Lake Michigan. It is possible that it is not normalized yet. But I would like to think it is merely bad luck.
