My guess is that the reason SDF's Mastodon instance is still so slow is that everyone's requesting backup archives so they can switch instances.

Wasn't MS-DOS 4.0 the buggiest version ever? I seem to remember that it was withdrawn almost immediately in favor of 5.0. Maybe M****S*** released the source so that young programmers would learn how not to code!
